Fill out the following chart for each beautiful bow hold you make. Remember:
Violins/violas - round pinky; tilted wrist to the left (like you're turning a doorknob)
Cellos/basses - thumb on frog bump; floppy, round fingers
Everyone - BENT THUMB

Oxford Orchestras is offering a Summer Strings Camp 2016 - a half-day camp offered to 4th through 8th grade orchestra students held at Lakeville Elementary School from June 20-24. Camp is taught by Susan Joul, cellist and educator in Oxford, and Bill Milicevic, former Director of Orchestras for Oxford.
It's an awesome experience for students looking to further their skills over the summer! Please visit the following link for enrollment information and forms.

Students can practice their note-reading skills for their instrument by playing Music Racer at www.musicracer.com.
Students can print out their PERFECT SCORE and turn it in to redeem a prize..If we work hard enough, our Orchestra students can get on the Top 50 List out of all users of the game!

Please find the NEW and IMPROVED Weekly Practice Record below. You can also find these under the Practice Tools tab. These are due every Monday to Ms. Frakes! Students receive a certificate and prize at the end of the school year if they complete 1,600 minutes by Monday, June 6th, 2016!
